Marine Biologist, Professorship at the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven, rights to award doctorates at the University of Bremen

Bela H. Buck holds after his studies of biology, neurosciences and marine biology in Bremen, Kiel (both in Germany) and Townsville (Australia) over 20 years of national and international research and private sector experience. Next to his main activities at the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven and at the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz-Centre for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, he is the Honorary President of the German Aquaculture Association. Further, he is a member of the steering committee of the German Agricultural Research Alliance (DAFA).

Dr. phil. Gesche Krause
Geographer

Gesche Krause holds after her studies of geography and social sciences in Kiel, Greifswald (both in Germany) and Stockholm (Sweden) over 20 years of national and international research and private sector experience. Next to her main activities at the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz-Centre for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, she chairs the ICES working group on social and economic dimensions of aquaculture (WGSEDA). Additionally, she is part of the executive committee of the global Oceans Past Initiative (OPI) and member of a social science expert group of the EU SAPEA (“Science Advice for Policy by European Academies”) on the subject „Food from the Oceans“.

SeaKult - Buck, Krause GbR is based on the longstanding experience of its employees and their scientific expertise on the areas of integrated coastal zone management, sustainable aquaculture, social-ecological system analysis as well as maritime law. Furthermore, expertise is available in the procurement of funding sources on EU-level.
